Supermarkets Expanding Nationwide

 

Aldi Inc. trades as Aldi at 550 locations in CT, IA, IL, IN, KS, MD, MI, MO, NC, NJ, NY, OH, PA, SC, WI, and WV. The grocery stores occupy spaces of 15,000 sq.ft. in freestanding facilities and strip centers. Plans call for 40 openings in the coming 18 months. Expansion will take place in MD, MI, NC, NY and PA. Leases running 30 years are typical and the company prefers to acquire freestanding facilities; otherwise, a vanilla shell is required.
