Pasbjerg Development Co. recently broke ground on Home Depot Plaza, a 275,000 sq.ft. strip center located at the intersection of Routes Nine and 72 in Manahawkin, NJ. Space totaling 131,000 sq.ft. is available. Home Depot anchors the center, which is located near Wal*Mart, Kmart and Shop Rite. A December 2000 opening is planned. Parking is available for 1,500 cars, and Route 72 is the only road onto Long Beach Island, NJ. The company also recently broke ground on Jackson Plaza, a 300,000 sq.ft. strip center located at the intersection of County Line and Cook Roads in Jackson Township, NJ. The center is anchored by a 70,000 sq.ft. Shop Rite. Spaces of 1,500 sq.ft. to 120,000 sq.ft. are available. Demographics show a population of 260,000 residing within 10 miles earning $50,000 as the average income. The center is located five minutes from Six Flags Great Adventure. A July 2001 opening is planned.

USA Management is developing Lakeside, a 120,000 sq.ft. strip center located in Mentor, OH. Three outlots of 10,000 sq.ft. to 20,000 sq.ft. are available. Demographics show a population of 98,178 residing within five miles earning between $50,000 and $75,000 as the average income. A September 2001 opening is planned.

Marc D. Koenig Realty, Inc. plans to break ground on a 43,475 sq.ft. strip center situated on four acres and located at the intersection of Route Six and Highland Avenue in Seekonk, MA. Space totaling 43,475 sq.ft. is available. Groundbreaking is slated for the first quarter of 2001, and a fourth quarter 2001 opening is planned. Demographics show a population of 647,802 residing within 10 miles earning $37,326 as the average income. The daily traffic count is 21,000 on Route 6 and 69,000 on Route 195. Stop & Shop, Home Depot, Wal*Mart and Staples operate nearby. The market and asking rent is $16 psf to $18 psf with CAM and taxes to be determined.

The Trademark Companies recently purchased 25 acres for the development of Firewheel Crossing, a 194,000 sq.ft. project with five outparcels located on the northwest corner of State Highway 190 and Campbell Road in Garland, TX. The project will be anchored by a 65,000 sq.ft. Albertson’s. Trademark acquired the land from 190 Land LP. Pad sites are available immediately, and an opening for the shopping center is projected to occur between Fall 2001 and Spring 2002.
