Real Estate Professionals Making NewsCBL & Associates (423-855-0001) hired three new team members in leasing and financial services. Goeff Cowen joined the company as leasing manager and brings five years experience to the firm most recently with the Pyramid Companies where he was involved with regional center space leasing. Hal Wilson comes to the firm as district manager from the sales department of Superior Industries, Inc. Brian Chadwick joins CBL in its financial services division. Chadwick was most recently with Morgan Stanley Dean Witter in Chattanooga, TN.
Winick Realty Group (212-792-2600) hired Mark A. Kanian to serve as Senior Vice President and General Counsel. Kanian comes to the firm from Chase Manhattan, where he was involved in all phases of real estate disposition.
IRT Development Company (770-955-4406) hired Peter Pelt as vice president of development. Pelt has more than 20 years of experience, most recently with SCG Development. He will be responsible for opportunities in Georgia and the Carolinas. The company has also hired Brad Garner as vice president of real estate transactions. Garner had served as loan production officer with Alliance Realty Advisors and his areas of responsibility will include acquisitions, dispositions and secured financing.
NAI Hiffman (630-932-1234) hired Amy E. Tesch into its Retail Brokerage Group. Tesch has 17 years of international experience in retail real estate with French courtier, Rodier; Italian couturier, Max Mara and Chicago-based Real Estate Consultants. At NAI Hiffman, Tesch will specialize in tenant representation, sales and leasing of properties.
Value City Department Stores (614-471-4722) hired George Kolber as chief executive officer. Kolber had spent the last five years as chief operating officer of American Eagle Outfitters, Inc. Kolber is expected to turn around the Value City stores and affiliates much as he did for American Eagle in the last five years. The stores share the same chairman, Jay Schottenstein.
Mid-America Asset Management Company (630-954-7300) has won the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties Retail Transaction of the Year Award. Company principal Richard Spinell and vice president Claudia Gatti were honored for the Carson Pirie Scott lease at The Streets of Woodfield in Schaumburg, IL.
