Cohen Financial (312-346-5680) tapped Mark Strauss, formerly an investment sales broker with Marcus & Millichap, to join the company’s capital markets unit. Strauss will be responsible for originating commercial real estate financing transactions.

Coldwell Banker Commercial/Devonshire Realty (217-352-7712) recently hired Jason Rogers as an associate in the Champaign, IL office.

JDN Realty Corp. (404-262-3252) hired Jeff Skorich as vice president and director of construction. Previously, Skorich was construction manager for Duke-Weeks Realty Corporation’s Carolinas division.

CB Richard Ellis, Inc. (602-735-5555) promoted Darren Pitts to vice president at its Phoenix office. Pitts joined CB Richard Ellis in 1995 as a sales associate. He was a member of the company’s Velocity Retail Group, and specialized in managing retail development and site selection for national retailers, including Lowe’s, CVS Pharmacy, Old Navy and Ultimate Electronics.

The Krone Group LLC (216-464-5900) recently affiliated with Karas Realty Advisors, Inc. The affiliation will expand the services offered by Karas Realty to include lease administration in addition to tenant representation, leasing and development of commercial real estate properties and provide The Krone Group an office in MI. The Krone Group LLC is a full service real estate firm specializing in the leasing and management of retail properties ranging from malls to strip centers.

Finard & Company, LLC (781-273-5555) hired Peter Waning as vice president of construction for the company’s construction management division. Waning, who will oversee the commercial real estate company’s construction activities, previously served as vice president of Spaulding & Slye’s construction division.

The Staubach Co. (800-944-0012) opened a retail services office in Portland, OR to provide local representation for the company’s clients that are expanding and locating stores in OR. Ron Dowhaniuk joined the company as regional director to head the new office, which is located at One World Trade Center at 121 SW Salmon Street. Dowhaniuk most recently served as vice president with Trammell Crow Co.’s retail services group.

Cousins Properties Inc.’s (770-955-2200) president and chief operating officer, R. Dary Stone, has resigned. Stone will assume responsibility for the company’s TX operations and a review is planned for the reassignment of Stone’s duties this month.

Bella Vista Group, Inc.’s (716-684-9000) president Joseph A. Cipolla has been awarded the designation of Certified Shopping Center Manager by the International Council of Shopping Centers.
