WorkPlace Urban Solutions is developing Sterling Village, a 27.6-acre mixed-use project at the intersection of Dallas North Tollway and Texas 121 in Frisco, TX. The first anchor for the development is expected to be a vehicle dealership that will encompass 10 acres. The plan also includes 100,000 sq.ft. of retail space, 500,000 sq.ft. of office space and 500 to 600 lofts or a hotel.

The Sembler Co. and Noro Broadview Holding Co. are redeveloping Lindbergh Plaza, a 379,230 sq.ft. mixed-use project in Atlanta, GA. Current tenants in the center include QuikTrip, Kmart, Office Depot, Bennie’s Shoes and Big Lots. The existing center will be razed and ground breaking for the new center is expected in 2003. The 27-acre site at the intersection of Piedmont Road and Sydney Marcus Boulevard will have 700,000 sq.ft. of retail and 200 to 250 apartment units. Completion is scheduled for 2005.

Menin Development Companies, Inc. is developing the 351,000 sq.ft. Downtown At The Gardens lifestyle and entertainment project on a 35-acre site in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. A 30,000 sq.ft. Whole Foods Market will coanchor the center with the 65,000 sq.ft. Cobb Theatres’ Downtown 16. The company is looking to add national book stores, area art galleries and national and regional restaurants to the center. Located adjacent to the Gardens Mall, Downtown At The Gardens is slated to open in October 2003.

Westcor Partners is developing La Encantada, a 258,000 sq.ft. upscale shopping center in the Catalina Foothills in Tuscon, AZ. Construction on the open-air village, which is located at the northwest corner of East Skyline Drive and North Campbell Avenue, is expected to begin in Summer 2002, with completion slated for Fall 2003. La Encantada will occupy 37 acres, 29 of which will be developed leaving nine acres of open space. Developers expect 30 to 35 retailers and five restaurants to occupy the center.

Gramor Development Co. is developing Mill Plain Town Center at the intersection of Mill Plain Boulevard and Southeast 164th Avenue in Vancouver, WA. The center will be anchored by Target. Other tenants include Baja Fresh, Starbucks and Old Spaghetti Factory. Target is expected to open in July and construction on Old Spaghetti Factory is expected to begin in April.

Communities Southwest is developing a neighborhood center at the 1,000-acre master-planned community of Tramonto in Phoenix, AZ. The center, located at the intersection of Interstate 27 and Carefree Highway, will include a 55,000 sq.ft. Albertson’s/Osco and 40,000 sq.ft. of inline space on 5.5 acres. Construction is expected to begin in early 2002 with a slated October 2002 completion.

WinMill Development Corp. is developing Flamingo Marketplace, a 16,000 sq.ft. retail center located within the Flamingo Road/Maryland Parkway Corridor in Las Vegas, NV. Tenants will include Super Pawn and Verona’s Catwalk, an alternative clothing retailer. A 4,011 sq.ft. endpad is available and a restaurant is preferred. Construction is expected to be complete next month.

Cencor Urban is developing the retail portion of The Triangle, a mixed-use development on 22 acres at the intersection of 45th Street and Lamar Boulevard in Austin, TX. Construction was slated to begin in June 2002, but may be delayed due to Post Properties Inc.’s pulling out of the residential portion of the project. The project is expected to have 150,000 sq.ft. of retail and 65,000 sq.ft. of office space.

Talon Development Group, Inc. is developing a 300,000 sq.ft. power center on 50 acres in Grand Blanc, MI. The center is being built at the intersection of Interstate 75, which has an average daily traffic count of 30,000 vehicles, and Hill Road, which has an average daily traffic count of 24,266 vehicles. Neighboring retailers include Meijer’s and Home Depot. The center is expected to open in 2003.
