La Femmina Beauty trades as The Lemon Tree at 65 locations in CT, NJ, NY and PA. The unisex salons occupy spaces of 800 sq.ft. to 1,200 sq.ft. in freestanding locations and strip centers. Growth opportunities are sought throughout the existing markets during the coming 18 months. Preferred cotenants include florists, card shops, pizzerias and delis. Leases running 10 years are typical. The company is franchising.

Cartoon Cuts operates 20 locations in FL, GA, MD and VA. The kid’s hair salons, featuring cartoon cuts and Sega video games in the waiting areas, occupy spaces of 1,000 sq.ft. to 1,200 sq.ft. in malls and power and strip centers. Plans call for six openings during the coming 18 months. Expansion will take place throughout FL, MD, NC, SC, TN and VA. Demographic requirements include a population of 100,000 within three miles earning $45,000 as the average household income. The company also is cobranding with Wal*Mart Supercenters in spaces of 900 sq.ft. Leases running five to 10 years are typical. A vanilla shell is required.
