H&R Retail (703-356-8230) announced the formation of a retail investment sales group to be headed by Michael Gorsage, who will serve as principal. He is joined by Kate Howarth, who will serve as managing director of investment properties with the new division. Gorsage was with CB Richard Ellis since 1995. Prior to that, he served as president of a Washington, DC area development company and was responsible for the development of the Chevy Chase Pavilion, a 750,000 sq.ft. center, and Idylwood Plaza, a 75,000 sq.ft. center. Howarth was previously with CB Richard Ellis where she served as director of Mid-Atlantic Retail Investment Properties Group. She was responsible for client relations, underwriting, market research and technical applications.

 

Harbert Realty Services (813-222-1331) announced that its president and CEO Harry Lynch has been appointed chairman of the board of directors for The CORE Network. He previously served as vice chairman. The CORE Network is a group of commercial real estate companies that are hand-selected to provide commercial real estate services to national clients.

 

Latham & Watkins LLP (213-891-8998) announced that Donald I. Berger joined the firm’s real estate department. Berger has experience in financing, acquisition, development, entitlement, construction and leasing. His background also includes mezzanine and syndicated lending, hotel and resort financing, real estate joint ventures and preferred equity investments, distressed debt acquisition and disposition, redevelopment and real estate capital markets transactions.

 

Atlanta Bread Co. (770-432-0933) hired Holland B. Burton as vice president of real estate. Prior to joining Atlanta Bread Co., Burton served as director of real estate for Cinnabon, vice president of The Coffee Beanery and franchise real estate manager for Shoney’s.

 

Woolbright Development, Inc. (561-989-2277) hired David F. Ballew as vice president of acquisitions. Ballew has opened Woolbright’s Orlando, FL office and will focus on investment opportunities in the Orlando, Jacksonville and Tampa area. Prior to joining Woolbright, Ballew was a senior vice president at Commercial Net Lease Realty, Inc. and was president and CEO of BVT Equity Holdings, Inc. in Atlanta, GA.

 

Realty Resources (757-490-7800) announced that Cordano Co. has joined its network of commercial brokerage firms that specialize in retail real estate. Cordano Co. becomes the network’s 23rd member. Cordano is the largest retail property management firm in Sacramento, CA, managing approximately 3.5 million sq.ft.

 

Amterre Property Group, LLC (720-300-4232) was formed by Michael and Norman Kranzdorf. The commercial property development and management company will focus on supermarket-anchored strip centers throughout the Front Range region of CO. Michael Kranzdorf was formerly vice president and director of research and information systems at Kranzco Realty Trust. Norman Kranzdorf founded Kranzco Realty, Inc.

 

CT Realty Corp. (949-752-5115) announced the appointment of Barry A. Chase as executive vice president of acquisitions. Chase will oversee the expansion of the company’s real estate portfolio comprised of multi-family, commercial office, industrial/R&D, retail and redevelopment properties throughout CA. In addition, Chase will be involved in the development of ground-up real estate projects for the company.
