Who's Opening & Where O’Charley’s (615-256-8500) opened an O’Charley’s restaurant and a Ninety Nine restaurant during the fourth quarter of 2003. The company currently has seven O’Charley’s restaurants and two Ninety Nine restaurants under construction. This year, the company is planning to open 15 O’Charley’s restaurants, 12 to 14 Ninety Nine restaurants and up to two Stoney River restaurants.
Walgreen Co. (847-914-2500) is planning to open a 14,820 sq.ft. drug store in Pleasant Grove, UT. The company plans to add 450 stores nationwide during 2004. The company currently operates 4,227 stores nationwide, including 11 in UT.
Federated Department Stores, Inc. (212-704-3300) is planning to open a Bon-Macy’s furniture gallery in Kennewick, WA. The 40,000 sq.ft. store will be located in Tapteal Business Center. Construction is slated to begin during the Summer, with a store opening slated for early 2005. Store merchandise will include furniture, bedding, rugs, mattresses and home accessories. Federated operates 456 department stores under names such as Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s and Lazarus.
Costco Wholesale Corp. (425-313-8100) is planning to open a 148,000 sq.ft. store at the former Showcase Cinemas site on 28th Street in Cascade Township, MI. The store would be part of a 119-acre development known as Waterfall Shoppes. The company currently operates 425 stores nationwide, including eight in MI.
Quizno’s Corp. (720-359-3300) is planning to open a restaurant at 8600 Golf Road in Niles, IL.
Noodles & Co. (303-554-1963) is planning to open a restaurant at 5681 West Touhy Avenue at the Village Crossing Shopping Center in Niles, IL.
84 Lumber Co. (724-228-8820) is planning to open 20 locations next year. The company currently operates 433 home improvement stores throughout 34 states.
Rag Shops, Inc. (973-423-1303) opened two stores, expanded two stores and closed two locations. Next year, the company expects to open two stores, relocate three stores and close two existing locations. The company currently operates 68 fabric stores.

Wal*Mart Stores, Inc. The company also has started construction on some of the 40 warehouse-size stores it plans to open during the coming three to five years throughout CA.

Worldwide Restaurant Concepts, Inc. (818-662-9800) is planning to open three southern CA sites and anticipates opening two of these locations during the current fiscal year. The company currently operates 317 Sizzler restaurants worldwide, 112 KFC restaurants primarily located in Queensland, Australia and 21 Pat & Oscar’s restaurants.
The Sharper Image (415-445-1583) is planning to open 25 stores during this fiscal year. More than half of the company’s stores in 2003 opened in outdoor lifestyle centers. The company is focusing on new stores in 2004 with the similar accelerated store unit growth of 15% to 20%.

Fresh Enterprises (805-495-4704) opened a restaurant in Abington, PA. The company also is planning to open three more Philadelphia, PA area locations in Montgomeryville, Springfield and Conshohocken. The company currently operates 270 locations nationwide.
Dick’s Sporting Goods (412-787-1330) is planning to open a store at the White Oaks Mall in Springfield, IL in a space formerly occupied by Montgomery Ward. The Ward space, which totals 150,000 sq.ft., has been vacant since early 2001. Dick’s currently operates 151 stores throughout 27 states.
Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, Inc. (336-726-8917) is planning to open 97 stores nationwide this year. The company recently opened eight “satellite” outlets, a combination of six “fresh shops” and two doughnut and coffee shops.
Whole Foods Market, Inc. (617-272-8464) is planning to open a 40,000 sq.ft. store on Raymond Road in West Hartford, CT during the Summer 2005. The company currently operates approximately 145 specialty supermarkets throughout the U.S. and Canada.
