Woolbright Development (561-989-2265) named Robert G. Mercer senior tenant coordinator director. Mercer will be based in Woolbright’s Boca Raton, FL regional office and will focus his work on new development projects. Prior to joining Woolbright Development, Mercer was anchor project manager at The Mills Corp. in Arlington, VA, where he was responsible for budget and cost reporting, coordinating tenant improvement requirements at Sawgrass Mills and Meadowlands Xanadu as well as overseeing multiple tenant anchors, including Lucky Strike and Borders. Prior to that, Mercer was a project manager with John S. Clark Construction, a NC-based construction company. He was responsible for bidding, negotiating contracts for sub-contractors and scheduling.

 

Johnson Capital Express (949-851-8400) appointed Kenneth J. Gaitan as executive vice president. Gaitan is a 20-year veteran of commercial real estate finance. He will be responsible for national loan origination, investor relations and strategic planning. Previously, Gaitan held positions with Merrill Lynch, JP Morgan and CBRE/Melody, where he produced over $1.1 billion of commercial real estate loans. Johnson Capital Express is a newly formed division of Johnson Capital and specializes in nationwide commercial lending under $5 million.

 

Highland Development Co. (626-204-4045) named Gregory N. Hoxworth CEO and president. Additionally, Michael J. Singelyn has been appointed director of development. Hoxworth and Singelyn will be based out of the company’s headquarters in Pasadena, CA. A 25-year real estate development industry veteran, Hoxworth was hired to establish and implement an effective business strategy that will strengthen the company’s development in the western states. Highland’s development strategy includes both ground-up shopping center development and acquisition of existing properties with value-add and/or parcelization opportunities from two acres in the western U.S. Hoxworth was most recently president of development and acquisitions for Combined Properties, where he initiated and/or closed 12 projects during his tenure. Prior to that, he was executive director of Lewis Retail Centers, where he oversaw the development of retail projects in Los Angeles and Sacramento, CA and Las Vegas and Reno, NV, increasing the company’s portfolio by three million sq.ft. He also served as senior vice president and principal for Lowe Enterprises, where he developed and managed a mixed-use portfolio totaling four million sq.ft. As director of development, Singelyn will be responsible for Highland’s development activities throughout AZ, CA and NV.
