Real Estate Professionals Making the News PropPoint (310-899-2750) hired Brian Topley as vice president to lead the company’s new San Francisco, CA office. Topley comes to the company from Omni Brokerage, where he was a senior investment consultant specializing in northern CA markets. He was also responsible for raising investor equity for high-profile commercial real estate transactions, structured with a 1031 equity as TIC Investments. Prior to working at Omni, Topley served in a variety of commercial real estate positions in San Francisco, including senior investment sales associate for the commercial sales division of Arroyo & Coates, and commercial investment advisor at Starboard TCN Worldwide Commercial Real Estate. ProPoint specializes in 1031 exchanges.
Coreland Cos. (714-573-7780) hired Chris Wakim and Tim Muller as leasing/sales associates to the company. Wakim and Muller will work with Coreland’s existing leasing teams and service the department’s office and retail portfolios, as well as identify new third-party office leasing and sales assignments. Prior to joining Coreland, Wakim served as a realtor associate with Century 21 Beachside Realty in Huntington Beach, where he headed up the firm’s commercial real estate transactions. He will join Coreland’s retail team consisting of Matt Hammond and Bryan Bauer and will assist in the marketing and leasing of the company’s 25-property retail portfolio. Muller comes to Coreland from the mortgage industry, where he was a loan officer and sales associate for the past four years in Newport Beach, CA.
The Retail Connection, L.P. (214-572-0777) hired Doug Lacy as vice president of brokerage. He will specialize in surplus property dispositions. He has worked with both large and small national retail clients such as Sears Hardware Store, Wal*Mart, Flooring America, Radio Shack, General Motors, YUM! Brands, Trustreet Properties and Commercial Net Lease Realty. The company also announced that Ross Golman has been promoted to vice president of brokerage. Golman is currently working on the retail leasing for the 4.4 million sq.ft. mixed-use development Frisco Square in Frisco, TX.
The Staubach Co. (901-261-2600) hired Russ Westlake as senior vice president and managing principal of the Memphis, TN office. His responsibilities will include market, recruiting and coordination of the office operations. Westlake has experience in general brokerage, tenant representation, landlord representation, asset management, development and investment sales.
Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Brokerage Co. (925-953-1716) named James H. Bell as a senior investment associate. Bell joined Marcus & Millichap in 1999 and specializes in retail and net-leased investment brokerage.
