Who's Opening & Where


Bed Bath & Beyond (908-688-0888) is planning to open a store at Heritage Crossing, located at the intersection of Raleigh
Road Parkway and Airport Boulevard in Wilson, NC, during February. The store
will total 20,000 sq.ft. in size and be located near PetSmart (623-580-6100), which is slated to open during May 2008 and will occupy 20,000 sq.ft. at the center. In addition, Harris Teeter (704-845-3100) is planning to open a 48,756 sq.ft. store at Heritage Crossing during April near Target. The store will replace an existing Harris Teeter unit at Forest Hills Centre.

Rose’s Restaurant and Bakery (503-827-3354) is planning to have 20 stores in operation within the next five to six years with funding from Aequitas Capital Management. The chain offers New York style full-service deli fare, pastries, cakes and desserts. Currently, the company operates five restaurants throughout the Portland, OR market.

Casey’s General Stores, Inc. (515-965-6100) is planning to acquire 50 stores and build 10 locations by April 2008. At midyear,
the company had acquired five stores. The stores offer prepared food, groceries and other items.

Planet Nutrition Holdings, Inc. (337-406-2348) is planning to open a 500 sq.ft. store at Ballantyne Family Entertainment Center in Charlotte, NC at the end of this month. The store will be adjacent to a 30,000 sq.ft. Peak Fitness.

Nordstrom, Inc. (206-628-2111) is planning to open a second store at Ridgedale Center in Minnetonka, MN during 2011 with plans to open 23 stores by 2012. The 172,000 sq.ft. store will occupy a former Macy’s location. The company currently operates a store at the Mall of America in Minneapolis, MN and 101 locations nationwide.

Costco Wholesale Corp. (425-313-8100) is planning to open a 154,000 sq.ft. store during February at Gateway Center, located at the intersection of Interstate 5 and County Road 102 in Woodland, CA. Target Corp. (612-304-6073) is also opening a location at the center, a 127,000 sq.ft. store that will be a relocation of its 88,000 sq.ft. store in County Fair Mall.

Dick’s Sporting Goods (724-273-3400) is planning to expand to 800 stores nationwide by 2014. Specifically, the company plans to open 90 stores in CA, 60 locations in TX and 40 stores in FL. Additionally, the company plans to enter new markets, such as Las Vegas, NV; Phoenix, AZ; Salt Lake City, UT and Portland, OR. The company recently acquired Chick’s Sporting Goods, a retailer based in CA.

DSW, Inc. (614-237-7100) is planning to open 35 shoe stores during the year. The stores offer brand name and designer dress, casual and athletic footwear for women and men. The company operates 255 stores in 36 states.

Cost Plus, Inc. (510-893-7300) is planning to open one store during the fourth quarter of fiscal 2007. The company opened three stores and closed two locations during the third quarter. There are currently 297 stores in operation in 34 states.

Luby’s, Inc. (713-329-6800) is planning to open 45 to 50 cafeteria style restaurants during the next five years. Next year, the company plans to build four to six stores under a new prototype that recently opened in Cypress, TX. The company plans to expand within and beyond TX.

Lowe’s Cos., Inc. (704-758-1000) is planning to open a 94,000 sq.ft. store on Rhea County Highway in Dayton, OH. The store will also include 26,500 sq.ft. garden center. The opening is part of the company’s plan to open 150 stores this year. The company currently operates 1,450 stores nationwide.

Tim Hortons, Inc. (905-845-6511) is planning to open its 11th store in the Dayton, OH area at Centerville Shopping Center, located on Dayton Lebanon Pike. The restaurants serve soup, sandwiches, baked goods, premium coffee, flavored cappuccinos and specialty teas. The company is also considering opening a restaurant on South Main Street next year.

Apple, Inc. (408-996-1010) is opening its third store in New York, NY, a two-level store on 14th Street. The store will join the company’s other locations in the SoHo section and on Fifth Avenue.

Benihana, Inc. (305-593-0770) is planning to open a Benihana teppanyaki restaurant and an RA Sushi unit at Westwood Station, a mixed-use center located in Westwood, MA, as well as at The Square, a 20-acre mixed-use site on International Drive in Orlando, FL. In addition, six Benihana restaurants are being developed under a new prototype design in Coral Springs, FL; Chicago, IL; East Rutherford, NJ; Plymouth Meeting, PA; Plano, TX and Dulles, VA. The company is developing seven RA Sushi restaurants in Mesa, AZ; Huntington Beach, CA; Pembroke Pines, FL; South Miami, FL; Baltimore, MD and Houston and Plano, TX. The company is also developing a Haru restaurant in the Financial District of New York, NY. Opening is slated for the third quarter of next year. Recent openings include: a freestanding Benihana at The Boulevard Shops in
Chandler, AZ; an RA Sushi restaurant at The District at Tustin Legacy, a lifestyle and entertainment center located at the intersection of Jamboree Road and Barranca Parkway in Tustin, CA; a Haru restaurant at the Prudential Center in Boston, MA.

True Religion Apparel, Inc. (323-266-3072) recently opened a 1,500 sq.ft. store at the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, NV as part of the company’s plan to open three stores in Las Vegas. Openings are planned for Fashion Show Mall and Las Vegas Premium Outlets, which will open next year. The Miracle Mile Shops are tenanted by French Connection, Urban Outfitters, BCBG, Lucky Brand and Sephora. The company designs, manufactures and markets True Religion Apparel products, including True Religion Brand Jeans.

Good Times Restaurants, Inc. (303-384-1400), through its wholly owned subsidiary, Good Times Drive Thru, Inc., is planning to open up to 25 Good Times Burgers & Frozen Custard restaurants throughout the Midwest. The development agreement calls for an initial opening of 10 locations, with
an option to develop 15 restaurants during the next five years. The first 10 restaurants will be opened in Omaha, NE and Des Moines, IA. Expansion will be focused on IA, IL, KS, MO, NE and SD, as well as other Midwestern areas.

La Curacao (213-386-4412) is planning to open an electronics store in Mesa, AZ at the intersection of Southern Avenue and Stapley Drive. The company recently opened its first store outside of CA at Desert Sky Mall in Phoenix, AZ. In addition, the company is planning to expand into NV and TX. There are currently nine stores in operation throughout CA.
